Genetic testing:

All of our breeding dogs are tested and are cleared as clear - non carriers

before breeding for the following:

Degenerative Myelopahty: Degenerative myelopathy (DM) is a progressive

neurodegenerative disease that occurs in many breeds of dog.

The disease is an adult-onset condition that has ALS like symptoms: progressive limb weakness and muscle loss, tremors, difficulty rising, and stumbling. Affected animals develop spinal and hind end problems later in life. It is inherited as a recessive disease based on these mutations, but there is also ongoing work to determine other factors that may play a role in severity and age of onset.

The mutant allele has about a 7% frequency in Labradors.

Progressive Retinal Atrophy: Progressive Retinal Atrophy, or PRA, is a

condition of the retina in the eye. PRA is a general term encompassing many  diseases which all progress over time and eventually lead to blindness. The first sign of this disease is typically night blindness. There is no pain associated with PRA and dogs seem to adjust very well to their blindness. Most types of PRA are recessively inherited disorders.

Centronuclear myopathy: Centronuclear myopathy in Labrador Retrievers is a recessively inherited muscular disease. This disease was previously known as  Labrador muscular myopathy. The disease is characterized by early onset muscular problems such as awkward gait, fatigue, and difficulty eating. Affected puppies generally begin displaying these problems within a few months after birth.

Health Guarantee:

Section 1: Seller Obligations

This puppy is a purebred Labrador Retriever, registerable with the American Kennel Club.  Upon execution of this contract, the seller does hereby convey title and interest in the  described puppy to the buyer (except for the terms listed herein).

We have made every effort to provide you with a healthy puppy. Breeder guarantees that all vaccinations and worming are current.

At the time of sale, this puppy is considered to be of "Pet Quality". We offer no guarantee that this puppy does not have disqualifying faults now or will not arise at a later date, which would make this puppy unsuitable for the show ring or for breeding purposes.

It is the buyers responsibility to have this puppy examined by a licensed Veterinarian of their choice within 48 hours of taking possession of this puppy.  If the sale transaction takes place on Friday and Monday is a holiday, the buyer will be given an extra 24 hours to have the

puppy examined by a licensed Veterinarian. If this puppy is found to have a life threating congenital defect or life threating health problem at this exam, a replacement puppy of equal value will be given if available. If there is not a puppy available, then 100% of the purchase  price will be refunded, provided the Breeder is contacted immediately (within 24 hours) after the exam, and this puppy is promptly returned to the Breeder, at no expense to the breeder, with a signed document from the Veterinarian stating the defect or problem. Registration papers given at the time of purchase must accompany the returned puppy to us.

We will refund the purchase price, pending verification by the Breeder's Veterinarian. We will not be responsible for illness or health problems, which are diagnosed after this time period, except where stated in this contract.  Breeder will not be responsible for Parvo, Distemper or Cornona Virus after 48 hours of sale, as these are highly contagious diseases  and they can be contacted immediately after leaving the Breeder.

Breeder further guarantees this puppy for 12 months (from date of birth) against life threatening congenital defects. If within that time a life threatening congenital defect is found, breeder will replace this puppy with another puppy of the same breed, quality and sex.

The replacement will be subject to availability (within 8 months). The puppy will be replaced, and no moneys will be refunded. We will not be responsible for illness or health problems, which are diagnosed after this time period.

In the unlikely event of this puppy's death in the first year, due to congenital defect, a statement from a Veterinarian confirming such an event and cause is required before any action will be taken by the Breeder. If cause is unknown, an autopsy is required. Under no

circumstances will the breeder be responsible for Veterinary or medical bills incurred.

Section 2: Buyers Obligations

At the time of purchase or deposit made, Buyer  and Seller should agree on a date and time for Buyer to take possession of said puppy, provided Seller deems the puppy able and fit to leave.  Unless previously agreed on it is the Buyer's obligation to take the puppy no later than 7 weeks old if picked up, or 9 weeks old if shipped.  If Buyer is unable to fulfill the

agreed on  time, the Seller can and will put the puppy back up for sale and the deposit or payment will be forfeited.

The buyer agrees to care for this dog as would a humane and conscience dog owner.

This contract is valid for the original purchaser that purchased the dog from California Silver Labs. If the dog is transferred to another owner this contract is null and void.

The new owner must sign one (1) copy of this Sales Contract/Guarantee and return it to Owner/Breeder within one (1) week of taking possession of puppy, or this Guarantee is rendered null and void.

Breeder makes no guarantees, expressed or implied, under this contract except as stated above.
